Do your employment contracts comply with latest employment legislation?

Employment legislation is constantly changing and its easy to get left behind.

Tribunal claims at all time high!

Tribunal service statistics for 2009/2010 record an increase in employment tribunal claims of 56% on the previous year to 236,100 claims.  Claims for redundancy pay increased by 76%, unfair dismissal by 9%, and breach of contract by 29%. More ....

Default retirement age (DRA)

The DRA will be scrapped on 1st October, 2011 which means that employers will be unable to automatically retire employees because they reach a particular age. 

Retiring employees after this date will have to be objectively justified and employers will need clear evidence to defend an action if challenged.

Employees who fail to embrace this new legislation may face claims of unfair dismissal and discrimination. More....
